What are dental bridges?

A dental bridge is a type of permanent dental restoration used to restore your smile after tooth loss. They are ideal for replacing a single tooth or a few teeth that are missing in a row. We offer dental bridges in Davison, Michigan, for both functional and cosmetic reasons. Losing a tooth can not only have an impact on your self-confidence, but your ability to eat and speak properly can also be affected. If a missing tooth is not replaced, your remaining teeth can drift out of place as well. The dental bridges we provide at Irish Road Dental are designed to prevent these negative conditions from occurring while helping restore your confidence.

What types of dental bridges are there?

Dr. David Ewing offers three different types of dental bridges for your convenience and will work with you to determine what is best for your smile. They are:

  • Traditional dental bridges – Use two dental crowns to anchor a replacement tooth known as a pontic.
  • Cantilever bridges – Similar to traditional bridges, but are used where there are no teeth on one side of the gap.
  • Resin-bonded bridges – Metal clamps and dental cement are used to bond and hold your new tooth in place. Most often used to replace front teeth.
